Private villa with pool · Akrotiri, Chania
The Villa
Villa Melitini rises over its own stone-walled garden on the Akrotiri peninsula — a modern three-level home designed for slow mornings by the pool and long evenings under the Cretan sky.
Every floor opens onto its own terrace. Downstairs, the shaded veranda and dining area sit right at the water's edge; upstairs, the balconies look out over palm trees toward the sea.
Highlights
A 78 m² saltwater pool — no chlorine — with underwater lighting, sun loungers and a poolside dining terrace: the heart of the villa from morning coffee to midnight.
Wraparound balconies and shaded verandas on all three floors, so every bedroom gets its own slice of open air and view.
Over 4,000 m² of grounds with mature palms, flowers and Cretan stonework — and a kitchen garden where guests pick their own tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs.
A dedicated barbecue corner beside the pool, with a grill and a traditional wood-fired stone oven — for pizza nights, slow roasts and grandma's recipes.

Location
Melitini sits between the sea and the city: close enough for dinner at the Venetian harbour, far enough that the only sound at night is the garden.
Explore Chania
Everything Chania is loved for begins a few minutes from the villa's gate. These are the places we send our guests to first.
Wander the lantern-lit alleys of one of the Mediterranean's oldest towns, walk the sea wall out to the Egyptian lighthouse, and stay for dinner right at the water's edge.
Akrotiri's famous hidden cove — a narrow ribbon of turquoise water between steep white cliffs. Go early in the morning, before the crowds and the heat.
The peninsula's easy, sandy beaches. Kalathas for shallow family swimming and a beach-bar lunch; Stavros for the dramatic bay where Zorba the Greek danced.
A 17th-century monastery set among vineyards and olive groves, still producing its own celebrated olive oil and wine — a quiet afternoon well spent.
Day trips
Crete's most famous beach — pink-white sand and a shallow turquoise lagoon you can wade across. Worth every minute of the drive.
The wild lagoon at Crete's northwestern tip. Take the boat from Kissamos port for the easy way in — or the dirt road for the adventure.
A 13 km hike through the White Mountains national park, down to the Libyan Sea. Start at dawn — one of Europe's great walks.
