The Villa

Three levels of quiet luxury, built around the water.

Villa Melitini rises over its own stone-walled garden on the Akrotiri peninsula — a modern three-level home designed for slow mornings by the pool and long evenings under the Cretan sky.

Every floor opens onto its own terrace. Downstairs, the shaded veranda and dining area sit right at the water's edge; upstairs, the balconies look out over palm trees toward the sea.

Highlights

The Pool

A pool made for night swims

A 78 m² saltwater pool — no chlorine — with underwater lighting, sun loungers and a poolside dining terrace: the heart of the villa from morning coffee to midnight.

The Terraces

Balconies on every level

Wraparound balconies and shaded verandas on all three floors, so every bedroom gets its own slice of open air and view.

The Garden

Palms behind stone walls

Over 4,000 m² of grounds with mature palms, flowers and Cretan stonework — and a kitchen garden where guests pick their own tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs.

The Cretan Kitchen

Barbecue & wood-fired oven

A dedicated barbecue corner beside the pool, with a grill and a traditional wood-fired stone oven — for pizza nights, slow roasts and grandma's recipes.

Location

The Akrotiri peninsula — Chania's quietest address.

Melitini sits between the sea and the city: close enough for dinner at the Venetian harbour, far enough that the only sound at night is the garden.

Explore Chania

Old harbours, wild coves and monastery olive groves.

Everything Chania is loved for begins a few minutes from the villa's gate. These are the places we send our guests to first.

01200 m

Vlites Beach

The sandy beach just a short stroll from the villa — sunbeds, a lifeguard, fish tavernas serving the day's catch, and a beach bar for sunset drinks.

0220΄

Marathi & Loutraki

Two sheltered, family-friendly coves with shallow turquoise water and waterfront tavernas — an easy afternoon by the sea.

0310΄

The Old Town & Venetian Harbour

Wander the lantern-lit alleys of one of the Mediterranean's oldest towns, walk the sea wall out to the Egyptian lighthouse, and stay for dinner right at the water's edge.

0420΄

Seitan Limania

Akrotiri's famous hidden cove — a narrow ribbon of turquoise water between steep white cliffs. Go early in the morning, before the crowds and the heat.

0510΄

Agia Triada Monastery

A 17th-century monastery set among vineyards and olive groves, still producing its own celebrated olive oil and wine — a quiet afternoon well spent.

Day trips

05~90΄

Elafonisi

Crete's most famous beach — pink-white sand and a shallow turquoise lagoon you can wade across. Worth every minute of the drive.

06~75΄

Balos Lagoon

The wild lagoon at Crete's northwestern tip. Take the boat from Kissamos port for the easy way in — or the dirt road for the adventure.

07Full day

Samaria Gorge

A 13 km hike through the White Mountains national park, down to the Libyan Sea. Start at dawn — one of Europe's great walks.

“One of the best decisions we made for our holiday”

“Both the house and the gardens are exceptionally beautiful and very well maintained. One of our favorite parts of the stay was being able to walk into the garden in the morning and pick fresh vegetables. The owners are some of the kindest and most welcoming people we have ever met.”

“I would return to this villa in a heartbeat”

“Awesome villa within walking distance to Souda Bay. The most amazing gardens, with lots of fruits and vegetables — we made salads with the fresh produce and amazing Greek olive oil! The pool was a big hit for children and adults alike, and the outdoor barbecue was perfect for grilling fresh fish.”
